Working in 3D computer graphics
The work shown on this web page is in reverse chronological order. The newest stuff is at the top and the earliest work is at the end. All work is done in blender and much of the early stuff is based on various tutorials floating around out there. Blender is not an easy program to master but it is a relatively easy program to learn. It is free, there are a ton of videos on youtube to give you ideas and help you to learn and that is what makes it so amazing.

Random Exercises and tutorials:
you know what they say... stay sharp!
Archie Bananabread (character)
This is a work in progress and will be returned to as I get the inspiration. The whole tutorial is very manual and these days, character generation is quite automatic. Still - always best to know the steps involved.
Pixie Doll
then for the next one, perhaps less like anime pixies.... but until then, courtesy of a tutorial from Blender Art:
And the final product. (would have loved the series to have shading and rigging, but...)

Another Droid (just for fun)
The Undocking (or - Part 1 in the adventure)?
Not exactly sure yet, but something along the lines of finishing the asteroid field etc...Thinking perhaps of some animation of a planetary "worm-tube" (smaller version of a wormhole that permits faster travel, shorter distances and no time-travel). Working on concepts for a small space craft so far... OK OK I GOT IT!!
We created the first prototype of a variant of the Einstein-Rosen Bridge, which allowed us to travel to near planets (our own solar system) much faster than currently possible... fraction of lightspeed. What might take months, now took just over an hour. And it seemed to work.... until..... :-)
(this is a work of fiction - don't be critical).
Update - I believe it was Stephen King who mentioned that when he starts a story, he has no idea where it will take him... this is more-or-less the case here. Part 1: The Undocking

Behind the scenes (the undocking)
Topper and the "crunch time".
Thoughts starting to form for putting together an animation :-) This one is WIP
Here is the "final" video, though I do reserve the right to fix it up later as I improve techniques etc.
And below is the work leading up to the final vid.
Asteroid Field...
Animation to this point.
Some other stuff:
Astronaut attempt. IF I get this finished it is going up on the sites as a FREE model.
First Real attempt without instruction: Marvin Martian
Elmer and Squeak
Something new.
Final cut
Still life, Apple basket (from CGBoost)
The sword in the stone (CGgeek)
creepy subway...
And the final video render (three machines, two days)
Donut courtesy of Blender Guru YouTube series. Really... anyone with a blustery afternoon to spare can do this for free.
attempts at camera motion and steam...(maybe i will revisit the steam some day)
"Rahab" movie video concept sample
